Nijgh & Van Ditmar
Nijgh & Van Ditmar is one of the oldest publishing houses in the Netherlands, but one of the youngest at heart.
Since 1987 Nijgh & Van Ditmar has been part of the reputable Dutch publishing house Querido. Our fiction list is famous for its classical Dutch twentieth-century authors such as J. Slauerhoff, Nescio and F. Bordewijk. In recent years, novelists with a strong sense of realism and an unpretentious idiosyncrasy have been added to our backlist. Among them are Wanda Bommer, Arnon Grunberg, Erik Jan Harmens, Rick de Leeuw, Lisette Lewin, Nicolien Mizee, Frans Pointl, Marja Pruis, Vrouwkje Tuinman, Robert Vuijsje and Robbert Welagen. We have also been expanding our fiction list with foreign authors in translation: Diana Athill, Roddy Doyle, Bob Dylan, Jonathan Goldstein, Laurent Graff, G. Bruce Knecht, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Joe Simpson and Sarah Waters.
