Gottmer Publishing Group was established in 1940 by printer Jan Hendrik Gottmer.
Seventy-one years on it has grown into a dynamic, versatile and modern concern with a well-established and distinctive list and a staff of 35. Gottmer publishes a broad spectrum of popular books under a variety of imprints: Gottmer (books for children and young adults), Altamira (mind, body and spirit), Hollandia (nautical books), Dominicus (travel guides), Becht (lifestyle) and Aramith (psychology, sexology and popular science). Gottmer publishes about 200 titles a year. On its list of titles for children and young adults are books for every age group from 0 to 18 in every genre imaginable: activity books, board books, novelty books, picture books, pop-up books, read-aloud books, novels and non-fiction for both younger and older children.
