Gottmer Publishing Group was established in 1940 by printer Jan Hendrik Gottmer.
Seventy-one years on it has grown into a dynamic, versatile and modern concern with a well-established and distinctive list and a staff of 35. Gottmer publishes a broad spectrum of popular books under a variety of imprints: Gottmer (books for children and young adults), Altamira (mind, body and spirit), Hollandia (nautical books), Dominicus (travel guides), Becht (lifestyle) and Aramith (psychology, sexology and popular science).
