Life and work
For many years Sieb Posthuma (b. 1960) illustrated magazines, newspapers and book covers, before moving on to picture books in the mid-1990s. He then started writing books himself, about his fox terrier Rintje, the first of which was published in 2001. Further picture books followed, as well as collections of stories for reading aloud. He has created musicals about Rintje and designed scenery and costumes for the ballet Coppelia. In 2007 he won a Silver Paintbrush for Feodoor has Seven Sisters and in 2009 the Golden Paintbrush with a book of fables, Up in the Green Lime Tree Sat a Big Fat Hen. That same year Posthuma illustrated Mr. Finney and the Word Turned Upside-Down, written by Princess Laurentien van Oranje.
