Cossee
Cossee Publishers are an independent publishing house, located in Amsterdam/Netherlands.
The publishing house was founded 2001 by Eva Cossee and her husband Christoph Buchwald, both since more than 25 years experienced publishers with a huge international network. The first books were published in spring 2002. Cossee publishes 25 new titles per year. Their selected list includes international and Dutch fiction, and non-fiction and essays on cultural, social and historical issues for a general readership. Among their authors there are internationally acclaimed names like J.M.Coetzee, Gerbrand Bakker, Hans Fallada, Bernhard Schlink, Erling Jepsen, David Grossman, Gilles Leroy, Julia Leigh, David Albahari, Robert Penn Warren, Jan Karski, Thomas Eloy Martinez and Ramiro Pinilla. Cossee also publishes the prestigious series Cossee Century with two international modern classics per year, mostly of the 20iest century, all titles carefully edited and with an afterword and bio-bibliographical notes. Because of their selected list Cossee has succeeded to be present in the bookshops all over the country, because (as a bookseller said) “they impressively combine quality with accessibility in beautiful editions for a reasonable price”.
