The Origin of the World

Big excitement today since we were finally meeting with Songyu from Flower City Press. She had good news. They had almost sold their entire first edition of The Origin of the World by Jelto Drenth (8,000 copies!) and it was going to be the first Dutch book on their list to be reprinted. The reprint would come out next year along with Manhood by Mels van Driel. We could also expect a royalty statement, at some point, there was some bureaucracy to go through. She explained that the book was unique in the market, there was very little sex education in China and people were using this title for that purpose. The extract published on the internet had had two million hits. The bad but rather unsurprising news was that China wasn’t yet ready for van Driel’s follow up title Met de hand (The Hand Job).
