Time: 01.30 pm Venue: SanLian Book Store

Meeting with Fik Meijer

SanLian Book Store

Moderator: WEI Dong

Fik Meijer is the much-read and greatly acclaimed author of countless articles and books on antiquity and related topics. In 2005 he received the Oikos public prize, the award for a classic scholar who has managed to draw the attention of the general public to antiquity in an admirable manner. Meijer holds lectures on diverse international platforms, where he deals with contemporary issues on the basis of parallels between the present and the past. In the SanLian Bookstore he will talk about two of his books that have recently been translated into Chinese: Gladiatoren (Gladiators), and Keizers sterven niet in bed (Emperors Do Not Die In Bed), both of which have been published by Guangxi Normal University Press.
