菲克·梅耶尔(Fik Meijer)是一位饱览群书、屡屡获奖的作家,尤其是关于远古时代及相关主题的文章和书籍。2005年他获得了Oikos公众奖,此奖项专门颁发给古典研究学者,学者们使用通俗易懂的方法将远古时代呈现给大众。梅耶尔常在国际舞台上演訒,内容大多和他的作品有关:以现代和过去的平行关系为基础,計论处理现代问题的方法。梅耶尔将在三联书店为大家介绍他的两部中文許作:《角斗士》、《古罗马帝王之死》,这两本书都是由广西师范大学出版发行的。
