Opening programme 'Open landscape - open book'
National Centre for the Performing Arts
With: Han Bennink, Adriaan van Dis, Ivo Janssen, Margriet de Moor, Ramsey Nasr
Presenter: HE Chao
In this festive and diverse opening programme, we shall take you on a journey through various landscapes: the physical, the literary and the musical. Three authors, a pianist, a percussionist and a poet will browse through a sample book of what Dutch art has to offer in a performance that is a concert and a narrative at the same time. They will convince you of the fact that the lack of mountains in our flat country is generously compensated by the varied geography of the artistic landscape. The evening will be introduced by Halbe Zijlstra, the Dutch Secretary of State for Culture.
The event will be preceded by the Special Book Award Ceremony. This award will be presented to foreign publishers, translators and writers for their contribution to the publication and promotion of Chinese books. Among this year’s winners is the Dutch Sinologist and translator Kristofer Schipper.
The evening is exclusively accessible to invitees.
